Evaluation Activity 2

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My target audience for my magazine was 16-25.My magazine was a more sophisticated and mature genre of music magazine, and i took alot of my inspiration from Q magazine, and from female singers in the industry. One front cover which i found hugely inspiring was the Q cover of Madonna. The Image of Madonna and then the image of my model does have some similarities. For both of the front cover, the main focal point is there face and the facial expression they portray. Both are very mysterious and are telling there own story. The way in which they are both positioned is that they are both turned to the side, taking up around 3/4 of the space on the front page. They are both well presented, in nice clothes, hair styled nice and make up done very nicely, representing this idea of sophistication and status, and a more mature audience that would be reading the magazine, rather than going for a messy hair and rough look about it. Both of the artists eyes are directly at the camera making a connection with them and the audience. The posture both of the artists hold is strong showing strength and domination. The images show that the social groups would be young but with style and care for how they look and also have status.
